Phone Number
I have no idea which section this belongs in
Please move if necessary
Can anyone identify this number, please
08000 510660.
It was a once-a-day call...it is now 2/3 times a day, on our answerphone, no message ever left, and I am not about to return the call.
With a number being used, call barring does not work
Any advice, please

Re: Phone Number
This is a market research company.
sign up with the "telephone Preference Service" www.tps.org.uk and they will not bother you again.

Re: Phone Number
LBM as Doc says, a flipping direct marketing company well known for dead air calling. Complain to OFCOM as they are not supposed to do this anymore.

Re: Phone Number
Thanks for that..
I did a google, but left a gap between 08000 and the number, which brings up a report from OFSTED.
I am registered with TPS, so will contact them again

Re: Phone Number
Tabs if they call again and you see the number just answer it. ask for their MRS number (market research society)...after you got the number advice that you are registered on the TPS and that you'll report them
cuz if they hassle any1 that is registered with TPS the TPS will be happy ... cuz they then fine the culprit for if correct 50k. unfortunatly you wouldnt see anything of that dosh tho.

Re: Phone Number
It's not a market research company, it's a marketing (sales) company. There's a difference.

Re: Phone Number
nffc, still it should be part of the MRS, and would be on the same rules as any company if you are on the TPS
only instance when the TPS doesnt count is if you autherised the say company to contact you

Actually, market research is not covered by the TPS.
The MRS have a strict code of conduct with regard to sales (ie none) and respondent confidentiality.
A telemarketer will not be part of the MRS.
