How long???
Is the flight from Singapore to Glasgow Airport? The reason I'm asking is my mum is due into Glasgow tomorrow after 9 weeks in Australia, my sister is meeting her at the Airport then spending the night in a hotel up there before travelling back home on Monday morning.

Re: How long???
Singapore to LHR is 14, so I'd assume it's about 15-16.

Re: How long???
Would the airline she is flying on not be a better resource? Which airline is it and is it a direct flight?

As someone who has done it, I can say with authority ... very, very long.
It is in the order of 14 hours to LHR and will depart Singapore at 6 or 7am local time. She will arrive back in Blighty feeling like it's something like 8 in the evening when it's actually only lunchtime.
She will probably have to wait at LHR at least 90 minutes for a connecting flight. They won't book connections too close together when there's a longhaul flight involved. The total time, airbridge to airbridge, from LHR to GLA is then about 1hr 20mins. I would guestimate that she will be in the arrivals area in Glasgow at around 4pm GMT.
I hope for her sake she's flying Singapore Airlines.

Direct from Singapore to Glasgow? That's highly unlikely. You need a 747 for that route and there hasn't been one of those at Glasgow for a decade at least. Are you certain of that?
edit
Don't assume it's a direct flight just because there may be a single flight number all the way through - airlines operate codeshare schemes with their partners. If she's flying Singapore, then she will probably get a BMI flight LHR to GLA, which will carry the code of the Singapore flight as well as its own domestic code.

I think it's a direct flight Chris, I'm almost sure it's a direct I'll have a look at the sheet she left with me.

Possibly, but that's not a direct flight either. It just connects through Dubai instead of London.

Pity she's not got a Singapore flight, nice big 747 and just about the best cabin service in the skies, anywhere in the world. On the other hand, at least breaking the flight in Dubai chops her journey up a little more evenly.
Be nice to her when she gets home, she'll be totally cream crackered.

I flew out on a 747 from Glasgow in May 2003, during the mass exodus to Seville.

LOL sorry, I wasn't thinking of charters ... charter 747s come in every so often (there were some this year I believe, and I definitely remember watching one take off towards the north last year - quite impressive against the skyline!) but it has been some time since the last airline operated a regular scheduled service from GLA with a 747.
