Re: Filling holes in plasterboard walls...

what kind of holes lee? if they're over nail heads then make sure you put some pva on before skimming. polycell do a ready made fine skim which is ace. splash it all over, make a vague attempt to create an approximation of a smooth surface then let dry. it sands down so easy - great stuff

Re: Filling holes in plasterboard walls...

If they are large holes pack them out a bit with cardboard or something suitable and then fill them.

Re: Filling holes in plasterboard walls...

Holes are about 15mm - they've had a plasterboard fixings in them which have been pulled out.

Re: Filling holes in plasterboard walls...

Pack them out with a bit of paper or cardboard and fill them as suggested above, leave the filler slightly proud of the surface and gently sand off till smooth and flush with rest of the plasterboard,

Use decorators calk, it will fill the hole and you can sand it smooth after its set

Thanks - wouldn't you end up filling the entire cavity between the plasterboard and breeze blocks? LOL!

Re: Filling holes in plasterboard walls...

You could get the builders in to put in a brand new wall.

Re: Filling holes in plasterboard walls...

You could try filler foam
http://www.wickes.co.uk/invt/156665
leave to dry and cut to form, then smooth over with decorators mate

Re: Filling holes in plasterboard walls...

you could try using a 'hole saw' drill attachment, cut the holes in the plasterboard to the minimum size circle that will include the whole hole ( )

- then cut the same size circular blank from a spare piece of plasterboard & use some filler to stick it in place. When dry carefully skim over & sand down?

- I haven't ever tried it, btw, it just looks good on paper - worst case is you end up with a bigger hole
