Top Service from O2
May or may not be of interest but could help you in making a decision when choose a mobile provider.
Interesting when you phone them that they enforce the "O2 UK call centre" message
My wife had her phone stolen Tuesday, reported it at around mid day. Within 30 mins of the post arriving on Thursday she was back up and working with the same phone number. The two people i spoke to at O2 were brilliant, the first one explained absolutely everything i wanted to know.
Top marks for O2 customer service

Re: Top Service from O2
Might bear that in mind We're on the edge of leaving Orange as they have changed how they asses what phones you can have on upgrade.
Now its done purely on calls made and nothing to do with spend so no matter what you pay in line rental each month, if you don't make many calls then you only get offered the older phones in upgrade. (In fact mine wouldn't be even be an upgrade, it'll simply be a replacement because I already have the best phone I can get for free.)

true, but im a bit of gadget person, so when they push the boat out for features that are worthwhile its great, i bought a nokia N91 to use its 4GB hard drive, its a music phone, its come in handy as its a mass storage device too, so i can put anything i want on it, i have used it to play music through my XBOX360, im waiting for a USB flash drive to be delivered

Re: Top Service from O2
Lucky you Gary - I had atrocious customer service from O2 in August, when I attempted to upgrade my phone - it's still not sorted now, according to my latest bill, either! And they agreed with me too, and gave me some good incentives to stay a customer.
I'm waiting to see what happens with my account at the end of November!

Re: Top Service from O2
Nearly as good as my experience then As with most providers it comes down to who you get through to on the phone. Get through to a jobsworth or someone who doesn't care and you will end up pulling your hair out. Get through to someone who cares or someone who wants to do the job to the best of their ability all the time and you will have a great CS experience...... needless to say I got through to someone who didn't care if I left because they wouldn't let me have an upgrade to a phone that they were advertising on the terms that they were offering in the advert. Idiots.

So so true, its funny when you have to phone several all within a few mins of each other amazing how different they were. From the experience i had id rate them as follows, the top being the best
O2
John Lewis
Morgan Stanley
GE Money
Barclays
M&S
oohhhhh M&S were dreadful but what do you expect from "Jake" who lives in india!!

I've been with O2 now for over 5 years, everytime I've phoned the call centre they've been spot on. Like you I lost my phone a few months ago so I phoned O2 and informed them, within 5 minutes the phone was blocked via the IME number, within 2 days I'd got another phone with the same phone number as before.
A few months later they phoned me and asked me if I wanted to upgrade my phone, I said to them i've only just had one because I'd lost my other one, they said it'a ok you can still have an upgraded handset as part of your deal. O2 for me rock

Re: Top Service from O2
I have a phone on Orange, I phoned up about an upgrade to the SPV M3100 which was listed on their website as £49.99 - they said based on my call pattern they would offer it me for £149.99 - I argued the price and they put me through to another department, I now have an SPV M3100 which I got from Orange through an upgrade for FREE. (I also changed talk plans since I call mainly landlines) and have unlimited minutes to landlines, 500 minutes to mobiles, and 200 texts per month, for £35 saving me a significant amount on my original bill.
don't accept the first price they give you on an upgrade, talk to them and you may get something better from them.
