also double and triplecheck the cambelt tension, there has to be a reason for the cambelt to snap, this could be milage related, or, more likely a failure in one of the tensioners or water pump. The last thing you want to do is have to do the job a second time.
Since breaking the followers is an impact related failure I assume you have replaced the head gasket, and had the head checked for bent valves and pressure tested etc? It's worth doing as the internal damage could be worse than you initially thought.

Also worth checking the pump driven off the end of the cam for the power assisted brakes if it's the 1.9TD model, mine also snapped the keyway off the end of the pump.
Mine went because the cam pulley shattered for no reason, the belf was still in good condition but it sheared the the brake pump drive, cracked the camshaft in half, smashed cam carriers, bent 3 valves and smashed up all the plastic covers.
Because the valves are almost in line with the pistons the pressure snapped the hard brittle cam, the piston didn't even have a mark on it
I would probably use one of the hermatite compounds, the one that doesn't cure completely. (I think its the Red one)
