Applying for a job.

I'm struggling on composing on a letter for a job application, it's been a long time since I applied for a job, I've got my CV all sorted, one of the applications is via Email and the other one is via post with CV attached. Anyone got any ideas on how to set a decent letter of application out?

Re: Applying for a job.

Basically, in the application letter you want to get across why you would like to do this job, how you are qualified, and what special characteristics/traits/qualifications you have that make you stand out from the bog-standard applicant. In my experience, the first thing (showing you would really enjoy doing this type of job, as it suits your interests and personality) is just as important as the qualifications.

Re: Applying for a job.

I really should get writing letters again - I managed to get my favourite job through just writing an on-spec letter... just be honest - why do you want to work for the company, what have you got to offer them? etc. http://www.henleycol.ac.uk/henleycol.../cadvice11.htm

when you get to interview -
http://anon.doubleclick.edgesuite.ne...NS_DirH_111006 and http://www.telepeople.com/InfoTopTen.aspx and http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article...22062,,00.html

good luck
