Re: Taking a dog to France
You need to get to your vets about 7 months before you plan to bring them back.
Get a rabies shot and an identichip.
Go back about 3 weeks later for a blood test
The blood test should show the dog has the rabies antibodies
Then the vet gives you forms, you send the forms to defra and end up with a pet passport (or the vet may just issue it now).
and off you go to France.
Now provided 6 months has passed (as teh dog may have had rebies before it was given the shot this is effectivly a UK based quarantine)...
In france you go to a vet, they treat the dog for pousses and tiques with frontline (bring your own - they are happy to use it). They sign a certificate that you then show at customs.
You then have 48 hours (I think) to get out of the country.
Did it on Eurotunnel. It was easy (ish) she had a fun time in Chamonix skiing (well romping in the snow).
