Ye olde BST / GMT debate!
Yep - it's that time of year again where we all have to put the clocks back to good olde GMT! (29th October 2006 for those who have forgotten!)
So - why exactly do we keep messing with the clock? Why not just leave it on one timing system?

Re: Ye olde BST / GMT debate!
I have been asking the same thing for years, waste of time and no need to do it any more.

Re: Ye olde BST / GMT debate!
I have to admit, re-setting all the clocks used to bother me. Now, nearly every clock (& my watch) re-sets itself. My various computers and my router get the time from the net. My NTL box and Tivo box get the time from NTL and Tivo respectivly. The DVD recorder gets it's time from Ceefax. My watch gets it's time from the signals broadcast from Rugby.

Re: Ye olde BST / GMT debate!
It isn't the resetting that bothers me it is having to get use to the new times and it getting dark by 4 that gets to me

In the middle of winter up here it's not fully light by 9am. Keeping the clocks permanently on BST would mean it would still be *dark* - properly dark - by the time the school/office day began.
No thanks!
