Re: Im going to buy a goat
And there was me thinking Zingle was on a get fit, loose weight kick, thus mowing the lawn was excercise to help in that mission
Of course the fundamental flaw in this plan is that the goat likely as not won't just east the lawn, but also the veg patch (OK if Zing's a lazy wot not that's probably not an issue as there will just be a muddy patch there), the flower beds and all sorts. I'm sure there must be some looking after that's needed too, so I can't really see this as that labour saving an enterprise. Still you might be able to argue it's environmentally friendlier than chucking the grass cuttings on the local tip.

Re: Im going to buy a goat
A goat huh. Lovely milk but they do eat everything. Washing will disappear from the line, and the garden will be a scene of devastation

Re: Im going to buy a goat
A mate of mine once had 2 goats on his garden, the goats had their own peice of grass which they grazed on, he had the best flower bed in the whole of Mansfield, they made brilliant pets to.
Go ahead and get one if you like them you could get another one, you'll not be sorry you got one.

Forget the goat and go for an apalca.

Re: Im going to buy a goat
They don't look normal. It's a goaty-camel Also seem to be more difficult to care for:
Quote:
A herd of alpacas are surprisingly low maintenance, as they will live out at grass all year round. They have an approximate stocking rate of 4-5 alpacas per acre. Worming and vaccinating is required every 6 months with a foot trim needed when necessary. Suris require shearing every other year with the Huacayas needing to be done every year.
Having your alpaca accustomed to the halter will make life a lot easier when it comes to worming, vaccinating, foot trimming and shearing. It will also be easier should the alpaca need veterinary treatment.
|
So you have to tame it before you can get near it to do all the "worming, vaccinating, foot trimming and shearing". And apparently they're very protective. I can see the post man getting a shock.

Re: Im going to buy a goat
Best thread title ever!
I would suggest that Zingle does not post any pics with his new friend otherwise photoshoppery may commence.
