Help with stomach problem
As the guys in the NTHW clan know, I've had an awful lot of problems with my stomach. I still have, and it's been a year since it originally started. The symptoms I mostly get are the following:
- Nausea after eating (mostly after eating part of meals)
- Feeling full very quickly (a sandwich would keep me full for about 3-4 hours before feeling peckish/hungry again)
The rare symptoms I get, which I have had just now after eating very little of my dinner:
- Nausea
- Feeling full
- Shaking
- Sweating
- Heart rate increases
- Breathing rate increases
- Feeling tired
..which lasted about an hour.
I'm getting enough sugar and I'm getting enough vitamins (according to the doctors). I've been to the doctors about 4 times now, seeing 2 specialists as well and have had 4 blood tests (needs re-doing again, going into 5th) and they haven't been helpful at all.
I've been suffering from not being able to eat correctly for an entire year now, and I want to get it over with. The doctors/specialists have said I won't be needing the camera down due to certain reasons I don't know. I have tried the following medicine to see if it helps when I get the symptoms, but most of the time they don't work. These have been:
- Zantac tablets
- Antacid tablets (sometimes work, but only when taking about 3-4 at once)
- Gaviscon tablets
Also tried a 220ML of Manuka Honey rated UMF 15 - didn't help either.
I don't eat much junk food at all, I drink plenty of water, milk and Ribena. I have a yogurt every morning and at every night, which helps a bit but not too much.
Any ideas/suggestions on how I can get this sorted without having to keep going to the doctors? It's getting ridiculous now that they haven't been helping me and that I've been suffering every single day for the past year
Thanks.

Re: Help with stomach problem
I mean, are you happy with your body? Stand naked in the mirror and do you think, "Yum", or "Ewww"? Any particular part of your body that you feel unhappy with?

The problem is that if you have seen the doc 4 times and a specialist twice, we, on this forum, at a distance, are unlikely to be able to offer any better advice.....
Other than 'don't give up, keep pestering them for an answer'

Re: Help with stomach problem
Ok, so you're happy and comfortable with your body. How about life - are you happy with that?

Re: Help with stomach problem
Why not PM Salu, I believe he is a medical person. There is a condition of the stomach I don't know how to spell it, but it sounds like helicobactipilori, if you mention it to your Doctor he may send you to be tested for it. It is treatable btw. Hope you make/get a quick recovery.

Re: Help with stomach problem
have you tried keeping a diary of what you eat and seeing if there is any pattern....... i know you said everything seems to set it off, but maybe you are eating the same kinds of food.... my friend has allergies/food interlorances and she can't eat anything with wheat, any spices, etc etc (her list is pretty endless) and i know she suffered from problems for years before a GP suggested she write a food diary and they were able to discover which foods caused her problems.
also could it be slightly psychological? in that mybe you do have an interlorance but because you maybe fear eating in case you get the symptoms, you get yourself stressed about eating and there the circle continues? not saying this is the case was just a thought

Not counting on that, actually been far better with stress/depression since leaving secondary school (as in, I hardly ever get annoyed/depressed now).

I think I was being tested for that on my 4th blood test, but they rung me up saying it had to be re-done - no more information about it.

Doctor also said that to me, but I don't feel as if I fear eating.
