Margarita ingredients...
...where can I get them?
I can't seem to find Margarita salt anywhere - has anyone seen any in the shops? Tesco seems to be surprisingly devoid.
In addition can you buy frozen Lime Juice over here? I know you can get it in The States but can't see it over here. I'm desperate to try one of these* again.
*although the one I had while away dispensed with the Sprite and just chucked in another bottle of Corona/Sol

Re: Margarita ingredients...
You in a cocktail skirt, huh
I've no idea what Margarita salt is - sounds like a Dahl character. Can you not squeeze n freeze your own lime juice?

Re: Margarita ingredients...
All the salt is dip the glass in beaten egg white then into a saucer of salt (you can subsitiute lime or lemon juice for the egg white but it doesn't stick so well).
As for the frozen lime juice you need a slush machine but I have only seen the real lemonade in the uk which you could substitute.
Had a brilliant one in Red Lobster absolutely huge (over a pint)!

Re: Margarita ingredients...
That recipe says "limeade", which a bit of Googling tells me is like lemonade, only with limes. Maybe a bottle of lime cordial and a Soda Stream would do the trick, then freeze it?

Re: Margarita ingredients...
2 parts tequila,1 part cointreau, sugar syrup to taste, freshly squeezed limes, loads of crushed ice(use a clean teatowel and a rolling pin) and a cocktail shaker.
You can substitute lime cordial for the sugar syrup but still make sure to add some freshly squeezed limes.
rub squeezed out limes around glass rim then upturn into a saucer of salt and shake off excess salt.
Rats now I want one...but I haven't any ice.

I know, but you can (but not here by the looks of it) buy a Margarita salt that is more course and sticks better.

I think it's just like the American Lemonade - just the juice, sugar and water - but I guess your right I could stop being cheap and just buy the limes and squeeze them myself! Althought Sainsburys do sell frozen Orange juice

Only if it's gold label - none of your cheap stuff if I'm drinking it neat thanks Gaz - awfully good of you to offer us all one though. Can I have a Sol/Corona/Pacifica (what ever you've got in ) with mine?

I love "normal" Margaritas like your recipe too Incog, but this one is great as it combines beer and Margarita in one drink :yummy: Jays Aunty called it a Beeritos (like Burritos). I'm really longing for one now - will just have to resort to squeezing the Limes myself and using normal salt.

Re: Margarita ingredients...
Sorry I like to drink my beer pure and unadulterated.
Hops and grain never the twain shall meet...

Re: Margarita ingredients...
Duchy Originals do a Lemon Refresher which has a similar taste (to that I remember in Florida) just need finely crushed ice AND the Tequila of course.

Re: Margarita ingredients...
I tried a squeezed lime in my rum and coke - it had shades of Mr Sheen. I prefer Roses Lime Cordial - ice cold coke, splash of cordial, and a good glug of rum (Capt. Morgans).

Yep - we're up for that too! Or we could come to you, Shaun, as we are doing the Uni run tomorrow?
