Talking How wet is a cow?

I thought that would get your attention...

http://212.58.226.30/1/hi/education/6046878.stm

How much of a lateral thinker are you? How would you answer these questions when faced with them in a university application?

Oxbridge applications advice company are trying to hone down the good applicants based upon their lateral thinking due to the amount of good A level results.

How would you answer them?

Q1 How much of the world's water is contained in a cow?
Q2 Are you cool?
Q3 At what point is a person "dead"?
Q4 Of all 19th-century politicians, who was most like Tony Blair?
Q5 How does a perm work?

2. Currently im 24 Degrees C and very comfortable

3. Once their heart stops beating

4. David Lloyd George (He's about as shameless)

5. For example in the lottery, enter every combination of 6 numbers from the 49 to guarantee a win ie perm 6 from 49

1) I think they are looking for a proportionate answer
2) That would make you dead which paradoxically is comfortable....
3) Is death reversible or a stopped heart reversible?

Re: How wet is a cow?

Q1 How much of the world's water is contained in a cow?

150 Litres.

Q2 Are you cool?

That depoends on personal opinion and the criteria that determines the definition of being cool.

Q3 At what point is a person "dead"?

When they can no longer breath and their heart has stopped beating completly.

Q4 Of all 19th-century politicians, who was most like Tony Blair?

I was not around at the time so can not answer this question.

Q5 How does a perm work?

Go ask your hairdresser.

True, but you haven't justified your lateral thinking in your response.

2. The temperature of the air im sitting in?

OK. But before you said "I'm 24 degrees C"....

3. I believe death is reversible.

But sometimes it isn't reversible so is Death not a constant? It depends on whether one interprets "death" to be the process of dying or the actual "total and permanent cessation of all the vital functions" of the body.....

Re: How wet is a cow?

ahhh but death is a process and dead is a state. The two should not be confused.

I say your dead when your heart stops beating, therefore you have been through the process of death and are now in the dead state. It is possible to return to the alive state by reversing the process of death

Q5 How does a perm work?
Q1 Will the answer change anything (or in other words I have no idea)
Q2 Given that the average body temperature is around 37 degrees c which is nearer to freezing than boiling then yes!
Q3 When all brain activity ceases
Q4 Pitt the younger
Q5 By changing the chemical structure of hair
