Well far from me to cast nasturtiums, but since you brought the subject up, I checked the calendar this morning and noticed that Bottesford was not mentioned in the Birthday tributes, I doubled checked and checked over and over but could not find it mentioned anywhere. I sent a PM to the Cable Forum Team at 8.10am and waited for the thread Happy Birthday to Fudge etc to be amended but it wasn't, so at 10.44am rightly or wrongly I decided to do the honours myself, trust this clarifies the situation.

There is no point in sending a PM to "Cable Forum Team", it rarely gets logged into, you would need to send it to actual team members.

FYI, Bottesford has not logged into the forum since June 27th, so they would not be included in the automatic thread, nor would we edit it to include them.

Bottesford was not on the birthday honours list because he/ she has not visited for over 3 months. If we wished happy birthday our whole member base then we would have on average 54 people a day with birthdays- hence it is restricted to active members.

A very succinct explanation to be sure! I am tempted...but I'll say no more, except shouldn't they be removed from the calendar then?

I didn't get the birthday honours (insert name here) from the cable forum team in 2003 and 2004 (just did a search) and I was active. Anyway Happy Birthday to me for this Sunday!
