art prints

i guess this is the right place for it...

anyhoo, i am after a couple of prints/photos for my room in my spangly new house, don't want my tatty posters anymore

i am after some prints of lightning and if possible, fractals, to hang up. framing is irrelevent, i can do that myself

i have tried www.easyart.co.uk and www.worldgallery.co.uk but other than those, google seems to be drawing a blank...

any ideas anyone?

well i think that much of the cost involved is for framing and associated materials on that website, i know i've seen the same prints there elsewhere for about £20... i'm assuming the quality won't differ all that much but hey

there's a picture framing shop i have used before that only costs about a tenner or so for great results, so it is really only the prints that are necessary

if anyone wants to knock up a picture with a resolution of something like 4000 pixels by 1500 pixels for me to get printed and put on my wall, by all means

Get a poster and frame it. I did that with some Rothko and Giger.

Well no - but they're a lot cheaper I think that site does do some prints - or at least, posters on thick paper. There's this site http://www.thinkpictures.co.uk/ Also try Ikea - some of their larger pictures are very pricey though.

They managed to hang it upside down, and a debate raged for days until someone spotted the upside down writing at the top of the print Even now, people stop at my desk, look at the poster, and I sigh deeply and say, "No - it is the right way up", and a discussion ensues, quickly cut short by my pointing out the writing.

Try your local library, some of them lend out pictures for a few months, just like a errr library

Re: art prints

I'm bowing out...Art should be about what you love not how much of the wall you cover.

On the other hand I suppose if you buy summat really cheap and you get bored with it...

But I'd rather have something I can look at for hours...a print that I bought at the Tate of Waterhouse's Lady of Shalot for me.On the opposite wall is a limited edition Beryl Cook print of lots of little fat fairies sliding down the plants.

i don't particularly want to cover much of my wall, i have a 4ftx1ft mirror on one wall, and then is going to be 2 pictures on the long wall and one picture on a short wall.

Bearing in mind this will only be up for a maximum of 12 months, student bedsit and all that

I'm specifically looking for lightning imagery as I have always loved lightning and think it looks amazing when captured still

He's a student - it would come back with spaghetti and assorted other foodstuffs and fluids stuck to it. The restoration costs would be enormous.

I've got big empty magnolia walls Not my choice, I hasten to add. The trouble with posters is finding frames. Argos used to sell them, but then stopped, for reasons unknown. Ikea has frames in all shapes and sizes apart from poster sizes. Very annoying. I've got a depressing Rothko and a Giger on the wall, but the rest, including an image of the Jabberwocky, remain rolled up in a tube
