Spark plugs on a Vauxhall Corsa Y plate

Where are they?? I've looked under the bonnet because I need to service the missus's car, are they under that chrome plate? I've tried to search for the plugs and leads but I can't find any. Mystery.

Re: Spark plugs on a Vauxhall Corsa Y plate

Look at the front of the chrome plate.

Follow the front edge along to the right.

Look down a bit into the engine bay, and a little more to the right.

There should be some leads there that seem to come from towards the front, bottom, right-hand side of the block and head up and under the right edge of the chrome plate.

I would guess that's the HT leads.

Follow the HT leads and they will lead you to the sparks.

Re: Spark plugs on a Vauxhall Corsa Y plate

As far as I can tell on that year of corsa it's a distributorless setup, the chrome cover in the center of the engine covers the ignition coil subassembly and the spark plugs.

Re: Spark plugs on a Vauxhall Corsa Y plate

Of Course, Engine size would help... lol

[edit] Looking at the Corsa service schedule for that model year, spark plugs should be renewed every 48 months so yes, they are due for a change.

Re: Spark plugs on a Vauxhall Corsa Y plate

Ok, Corsa 998cc 2001 issue Revision C shell....

Bosch FLR8LDCU plugs - set to between 0.9 & 1.1mm gap
Champion RC10DMC set to 0.7mm gap
NGK BKR6EK set to 0.8mm gap

Should be under the cover in the center of the engine top (most likely the chrome one you saw)
