Question Bees nest in garden

Just found a bees nest in holly bush in garden. I know bees are good for the garden plant but I'm not too happy about a nest in the garden, prefer them to be in a beekeeper's hive.

Does anyone know if beekeepers charge to remove the nest?

I imagine that the colony could be useful to a beekeeper.

Help before I get stung!

Thanks

Re: Bees nest in garden

Try calling your local council tomorrow as they may be able to give you the number of a local that can help you out. If not they may charge to remove the nest.

Re: Bees nest in garden

Or look in the Yellow Pages for bee keepers - you may find that one of them has lost a hive full of bees, or would be willing to come and remove yours.......for free!

Most keepers will remove them for free, they then use the workers for the honey.

Isn't that like aiding slave labour?

Re: Bees nest in garden

Local bee keepers don't seem to be interested , so...told the bees to buzz off and put insecticide around and on the nest
