Points on licence

How many points are you allowed before your driving licence is removed? I think its 12, but my mate insists its 9

I am learning to drive so could be helpful

6 points in the first 2 years of driving 12 after that or more if you throw yourself at the mercy of the court to keep your licence

Yep if you've had your license more than 2 years I believe its 12 points.

Yeah, your stuck with 6 points in your first 2 years.... have to be careful.

Got about 5 monthes left of my probationary period, have covered about 14,000 miles in the last 9 monthes... so far so good. However, I was on the M6 down to Blackpool earlier on in the week, and the zone was 40 due to works. (Bearing in mind this was 2am in the morning & no workers were about).... I'm fairly sure I kept to 40 but whilst overtaking a few lorries I could of crept above.

Pulled in at the next services and my mate (got sat nav) was like - yeah - did you see all the specs on that stretch? Cheers mate, why not tell me beforehand

You can go above 12 as long as the Magistrates don't ban you, we've had drivers clock up 15 points for speeding and not get a ban because it would effect their jobs, the Magistrates call it a ocupational hazard.

I've been done twice for speeding. Fair cop the first time, but the second time was a sneakily placed speed camera JUST after the speed limit had changed from 40 to 30.

I wish the police would pursue burglars and other criminals as vigourously as they do motorists.

It's a bit off topic, I know, but I wanted to say it.
