Teeth Whitening
Anybody had it done?

And if you have - what should you look out for?

I havn't myself, but have heard it needs doing every week?
Also there was some talk of it making your gums recede.

Do you mean surgical/laser or just the gritty toothpastes?
I've used the toothpastes in the past and my dentist said that I should stop as it will cause decay quicker because you are effectively grinding the teeth down. She also told me that any whitening methods kill of some of the tooth through the treatment as the tooth under a microscope looks like a sponge and it's the softer substance in the holes that gets whitened therefore allowing more (albeit very small) chance of a cavity.
She might have been scaring me (it worked!) but make your own mind up.

What put me off was the fact that they have to protect the tissues in your mouth........I have a very sensitive gag reflex....

Nah - they put a gel on your teeth and then hit you with a UV light for about an hour - after the hour the gel comes off and viola - shiney white teeth apparently...
Heres a shot of an unfortunate getting it done.
Preddy huh!

Crikey that sounds painful, even thuogh I'm sure it isnt.
I guess you have the option of either buying all those special toothpastes and it taking a while to do, or for the immediate effect booking an appointment with your dentist.
