Sudoku
It's a number puzzle where you have to fit the numbers 1-9 into every row, column and 3x3 sub-square of a 9x9 grid.
I'm absolutely hooked on them- is anyone else?

Re: Sudoku
I've tried them and while they do test the old grey cells, I can't see why people get so excitable about them.
I much prefer the crosswords without clues - the ones where each letter is substituted by a number.
Still, each to their on, I guess....

Agh. It seems pretty much every newspaper - broadsheet & tabloid - now has Sudoko.
Much prefer cryptic crosswords.

I love them- they're a good logic test and I'm sh-te with words so cryptic crosswords and those number things are pretty much out. Can do general knowledge crosswords though...

I agree with the "what's the big deal?" comment, although I prefer doing the Telegraph cryptic crossword to the "crossword without clues" type.

Yeah, but if I wanted to solve a Sudoku puzzle I'd write a recursive algorithm and let the computer get on with it whilst I did the crossword!

Yeah, but I'd do it myself anyway, just to prove I can!

Still a touch on the sad side though.

Re: Sudoku
I've discovered them
At first, I was just bunging in numbers at random, and quickly ending up in a mess. Frustrated, the puzzle would be torn to bits, stamped on, and put in the bin. But the defeat gnaws at you. So I went online and discovered that it's about logic - nothing to do with guessing or even mathematics <spit> And now I can do them
At my time of life, I have to be thinking of dementia whilst I can remember what dementia is and think of it. Keep the old grey cells ticking over.

Well it's them that shall be obeyed - only likely to end up in trouble for starting a new thread, or the older and new threads merged
