We're not quite sure what "fourth base" means here, since Indians clearly have a different base system to that understood in the UK. Brits - working on a simplified two-base system - understand anything after first base (complete failure to get down and dirty) as full-blown beast-with-two-backs action. To Middle England, therefore, fourth base would involve something seen only in Swedish DVDs and certainly illegal in the United Kingdom.
You mean struggle to concentrate after a 12-13 hour shift?
"Interfacing with the public" sounds somewhat like telephone sex to me too - and 13 hours of that is likely to knacker even the most conscientious worker! In fact, now I think about it, it's more likely to knacker the most conscientious worker.
Kinda reminds me of a manager who seduced his admin in his cubicle during an office christmas party - that was in the care-free pre-PC days about 16 yrs ago. Don't think it's unique to India - although work 12-13 hours wouldn't be allowed by the EU
