Anyone know about Finchley (north London)?

As the title says really... can anyone give me local information about Finchley?

I'm thinking about getting a flat there, but no nothing about the local area... I haven't got time to have a look round properly!

I have googled and got quite a lot of information, so am interested in people's personal opinions of the area....

any information would be appreciated!

Mrs Thatcher used to be MP for it. Middle class suburbia mainly, bit too far out of town for my liking, only really the Northern Line and Norf Circular to get out of it. Why are you thinking of there?

well Mrs Monkeybreath works in Golders Green, so we are looking at Brent and Barnet mainly....

Would be nice to be nearer the centre, but the cost of living says otherwise.... Ann has lived in Charlton, Woolich, Wembley, Hendon and now Shepherd's Bush...

Hendon is a possiblity, had an offer in on a place there but it all fell through... At the moment the possible areas are Hampstead, Golders Green, Finchley, Camden, and Swiss Cottage.

I've noticed that properties in Finchley are quite significantly cheaper than the other areas i have mentioned but i can't yet work out why....

BBKing where abouts are you? West isn't it?
