National Anthems
Imo, everybodies national anthem seems better than ours ( I mean the English anthem ). I`ve just heard the Welsh and Irish anthems being sung for the rugby and there seems more passion in them than ours. I also noticed, that both sets of supporters respected each others anthems and didnt boo like when the english supporters do, to others.

Re: National Anthems
I suppose it might help if the correct anthem was sung ie Land Of Hope and Glory, not God Save the Queen.

Re: National Anthems
I dont know which one is correct (I`ll take your word that Land of hope and glory is the correct one) but I dont like either one. It`s time someone wrote a new one.

Re: National Anthems
God Save the Queen is the British anthem, LoHaG is the English.

Re: National Anthems
I love Jerusalem. It sounds fantastic. Either that or Rule Britannia, or Land of Hope and Glory.
"God Save the Queen" is the worst anthem I've ever heard in my life!

Well the Irish ''anthem'' was written because it never looked good having a quarter of the team (the Uslstermen) not singing ''The Soldiers Song''. So a new song was written to be more inclusive. Which is good when it comes to Irish rugby.

Re: National Anthems
I believe the Libyan national anthem consists of "god is great" over and over and over

Re: National Anthems
I can't remember who said it, but apparently the vast majority of National Anthems can be sung with the words "We're right and you're wrong!"
It works for God Save the Queen, The Marseilleise, Deutschland Uber Alles, The Star Spangled Banner...!

Great thing about Flower of Scotland (I found anyway while watching the internations in Murryfield) was that the oppositions crowd loved to join in.
