Chocolate Rice Cakes
Gotta share this with you chocoholics out there - just bought some Kallo organic rice cakes with real Belgian dark chocolate coating in Waitrose - can't remember how much but probably pricey
Packet tells you to consume withing 2 weeks of opening - in my case it was 2 mins .... mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
And they're gluten free & GM free so officially GOOD FOR YOU !!!!
Please buy in droves so they carry on stocking them

Is there GM rice and chocolate? If not, a claim to be GM free is rather sharp practice, I'd have said.

Re: Chocolate Rice Cakes
ah - the 'if it doesn't have one bad thing in it, it must be good' approach
- sorry, I don't want to spoil your enjoyment, but - what is the fat and sugar content of these delicasy's? Is that 'good for you' - no it isn't
- so stop kidding yourself & get stuck in

there 'is' gm rice, in that it exists, but it is not legal to use in the EU.
- I'm not sure about cacao trees?

So, a claim of GM-free rice, whilst true, is actually a bit misleading as all rice available in the UK is GM-free.

diet
- from this website
Quote:
per 100g:
Energy 1959kJ/468kcal, Protein 6.2g, Carbohydrates 57.3g (of which sugars 24.4g), Fat 23.2g (of which saturates 14.2g), Fibre 6.6g, Sodium 0.04g.
|
23.2% fat - over 14% of that saturated
24.4% sugar
- low sodium, though

Re: Chocolate Rice Cakes
Why not make your own with all organic ingredients? That way you can be sure they are additive free and economically safe. You could even get Fairtrade products to make them.

 - sorry, you eat what you like, it is none of my business
- I just get annoyed when something that is 50% fat & sugar in small writing is 'gluten free' or 'gm free' in large writing.
- I'm relatively harmless, otherwise
