We've all been there. A few years ago I did the same thing after spending all morning trying to find my wallet. It later turned up under my car seat...where I'd left it for security.....
On a related note, in 2001 I really DID lose it, along with £100 in cash, after a night out. Cancelled all the cards and the next day retraced my steps. Turns out I'd dropped it in a kebab house at 2am, but one of the staff found it after I'd gone and the shop held onto it for safe keeping. Of course I'd already arranged replacement cards by then, but I got the cash back. Gave them £30 of it in return.

Re: Oops
Yep - been there 3 times!!! Last time i found it nice and safe in my gym bag = i must have put it there for safe keeping in a drunken stupor with all the good intent of visiting the gym the next day lol.
Now if i misplace it again when im worse for wear, gonna look in the most obscure places before I phone the bank to cancel, as it takes a week to get a new card and im lost without it.
serves me right for being a p***head

Re: Oops
I did the same thin the other week, but I found mine in the washing machine. It had shrunk and bent in half from being tumble dried! Oops indeed!

Re: Oops
Not exactly the same thing, but I'd once been to Hyde Park to chill with some friends on a summer afternoon. We're walking home, and we've got to about Marble Arch (about 15 mins away) when I realise I can't find my watch.
It's not in any of the pockets I usually keep it in.
So I drag everyone back to where we were sitting, before realising that the watch was in the last place I'd ever think of looking, and in the place where I never keep it ......
First correct guess gets a much sought after rep- it really is as humiliatingly obvious as you'd think

Re: Oops
I've been blind drunk only once in my life and the only thing I lost was my dignity The only time I lose stuff is when I tidying up - I'm just not used to stuff being where it should be.

I had to be carried to a taxi. I was on a promise too. The taxi driver was none too happy neither. Suffice to say that the one experience but me off for life, so I stick to tipsy now
