Another house price thread
The last thread about this got closed, so I couldn't to it, but I have found this site to be pretty good for knowing how much your neighbours paid for their houses
www.nethouseprices.com
Oh, and I have absolutely nothing to do with them, nor am I paid by them, etc...

Re: Another house price thread
yes it's brilliant that site (already used it) - it has told me what all the houses locally have sold for and the year/month of transaction.

Gareth,
Without me going through the kerfuffle of registering (having just done so on the site we must not mention), could I ask.....when you do a search on this site and it chucks up house details (at which point it asks you to register), are these supposed to be houses that are sold? If so, any idea who bought mine (and all my neighbours)? On the same day. For the same price. This also happened on the site we must not mention. Maybe it's a problem with the Land Registry database or maybe, as I'm on a leasehold, the ground lease has been sold (but not for the amount on mentioned I'm certain).
Cheers,
Andy

What was wrong with the site that you can't mention? Must have missed something.

Well what did you think would happen when you took those magic beans off the woman at the market? I told you to give her the cow, but would you listen? Nooooooooooooo!

Fair point had I not been off the magic beans for a while now Nug. Apparently they cause mental health problems and make otherwise intolerable music palatable

Gratuitous plugging. Which reminds I know of a great restaurant, and if you're ever after holiday accommodation or motorcycle insurance you could visit these.......
Oh, OK, maybe not!

Re: Another house price thread
You think that's scary - www.landregisteronline.gov.uk
For £4 you can find out who the mortgage lender is! alongwith the name of the owners
Identity theft potential if I ever saw,

Re: Another house price thread
Off topic but.....you can spend £4 on another website to discover the home addresses of all a company's directors. I found this very useful recently when having to complain to a debt collecting agency who, for the second, time were pursuing my ma in law for a debt which did not belong to her (and had been getting their hench-contractors to send out very threatening letters). Then some narky CS woman made a bad situation worse by being right rude to me.
Result was very posh director phoned me on a Saturday morning from home and promising to sort out. Ma in law got chox, flowers and apology and CS woman made to listen to a tape of her conversation with me.

No idea, mate... sorry. Maybe you're right in that it's something to do with being on a leasehold. Mine's a freehold, and the details for all my neighbours' individual houses is correctly displayed individually, with the corect dates and (I presume) correct figures.
