Lastminute.com are hopeless!!

I tried to book flights and hotel with Lastminute.com. When i was getting to the final stages of making the booking online i was offered car parking at a good price so i added it on. I went to confirm the payment and it responded by saying that there was a problem with the parking, so i thought, fine ill take the parking off of the order and book it. This i did and the transaction was completed minus the parking. 24 hours later the flight tickets came through the post, so im thinking, not a bad level of service. How wrong can i be!!!

Today i find that Lastminute.com requested an authorisation from my credit card company to cover the flights, hotel and parking. Then a few minutes later they did the same for the flights and hotel only and then proceeded to take to cash which is fine as this was the transaction i agreed to.

It appears they contact your credit card company to check your details etc which is fine, then they attempt to fulfill your order and if theycan fulfill it, they debit your Credit card. Seems sensible to m. The problem is if they cant fulfill your order they dont contact the credit card company and reverse the authorisation request of amount they are no longer going to process and as a result this eats up your available credit for 10 days (this is the time period the request sits there before it is automatically cancelled).

I contacted Lastminute.com and the claim to have no record of this as the order was never completed. I contacted the credit card company and they say the only person that can do anything about it is the vendor (the dont even know who it is according to the custoemr service person!)
