Try Esure as they give you the level of cover that you request.

Often not as over the top as you think. If you take a pad of paper (or a laptop and spreadsheet) and walk around your house room to room listing everything in the room and a sensible replacement value you would be suprised how much you own.
Sofas, Rugs, Furniture, Books, Software, PCs, Printers, DVD, TV, Clothes, beds, Pictures, home insurance is ultimately designed to cover you for the worst case of your home burning down and leaving you with nothing. Make sure your content is well covered.
If it is not the company when they send an assesor round for any large claim (say a burglary) can argue you are underinsured and pro rate the claim. So say you had £3000 of PC and AV gear stolen and your policy had a 30k content limit, the assesor might argue that your contents are worth 40k and only pay out 30/40ths of the £3000 (less excess).
