The thread title says it all really, we boiled a gammon join on Xmas eve, would it still be safe to eat now or should it be binned, there's quite a lot left, just dont want to get ill but dont really want to waste it either, the meat looks and tastes ok but...?

You should be able to get another day or two out of it.

It'll start looking a bit grey-green, and smell horrible

if you are not sure then bin it , safer than dieing for it , in future , freeze what you can into individual portions and you will be able to use it as you want to , within reason of course

If it's cured (or heavily salted) it should last around 10 day's refrigerated, if not, I'd personally bin it.

Convert it into pea and ham soup which, at a guess, should be freezable.

I wouldn't touch it at all, straight to the bin. Our turkey this year didnt last long, we had to chuck it because it went all funny.

As long as it smells all right, I'd eat it

Re: How long will a boiled Gammon Joint last in the fridge?
Mmmmm Gammon........... must be a big joint to still be around, I havn't a clue how long one will keep in the fridge cos they don't last longer than a day or two at our place, I'd rather sit and pick at a gammon joint while watching TV than pig out on sweeties.

Re: How long will a boiled Gammon Joint last in the fridge?
I would dispose of it myself.Mind it would have been made into soup or frozen by now in THIS household.
Guess what we are having for our New Year meal?
Yes gammon, new potatoes, peas and homemade parsley sauce. Why? because it is my husband's absolute favourite meal.Followed by another top favourite, apple pie and custard.
He will be as putty in my hands.
