contracts
im sick of constantly topping up my phone
im looking for a good deal from a reputable company which can offer a sim only package.
a question if i may:
i need one which is free minutes any network, anytime, does this mean you use your free minutes then it starts charging you if you go over ?
im a virgin to this so please excuse me (and the pun)

Re: contracts
02 are quite decent on that front, I'm on 400 minutes cross network and 400 free texts, if there are any left at the end of the month they roll over.

Yes that's exactly how it works but be careful if you take up a contract halfway through a month - they then give you the minutes on a pro-rata basis: for example if you are offered 400 minutes per month and you sign up halfway through the month, you'll only get about 200 until the next month starts.

I'd recommend Orange & T-Mobile, both have reasonable charges.
If you can't get SIM only then you should probably get a low end phone free anyway to use as a backup in case your other one gets nicked etc.

Re: contracts
Agreed personally I use PAYG, but contract is good. I used Orange, but If found they are not all "that", so I think T-Mobile are offering some good deals, esp with free phones they are giving.. some are nice.
If you dont want teh free phone I am sure I could take it off your hands

Re: contracts
Car Phone Warehouse in January will have some mega deals going on, but then they seem to have sales all year round which are ending Sunday...

Re: contracts
As Nidge said, O2 are quite good for contracts.
However....their customer "service" *really* sucks. I dread having to phone them up.

o2 and t mobile are in the front running, voice quality was better on t mobile for some reason on a test i did last night, but finding the right package for me is going to be hard, i need 400 anytime any network mins and free texts per month but i have a budget, cant over £30 even then its a stretch

Re: contracts
Have a look at the online O2 tariffs too, as well as the deals they do in the shop. They tend to work out better, IIRC.

I think they are all prety much the same (sorry Richard) with 3 comming off worse.
If you need a contract phone I'd personally go with Orange (if I switched from PAYG) as they'll match any tariff from the other 3 main players and they give you free evening calls equivalent to those offered during the day

Many of the contracts give you a free phone, you may as well take it and sell it on Ebay. After all there is no discount for not having it.

Re: contracts
went with '3' in the end, half price line rental for a year rebates at three month intervals, 500 mins anytime any network, plus a free handset.
i know its 3 but the reception is good around here.
plus if i go over those minutes it will cost me 10p per minute at anytime.
