keyring things
sorry about the vague title, but i don't really know how to describe them. anyway, they are the rubber coloured things you put over the end of your keys to help identify individual keys. I've looked everywhere down here for some, inthe co op, sainsburys, all the local key cutters etc, can't seem to find any. Are there any other places anyone recommends, any key shops online etc? all they seem to have down here are they coloured labeled keyrings that you put your name in and put on a keyring, whatever
i used to have 4 different coloured ones, cos all the keys were the same, but two have broken

Re: keyring things
When I had a problem with several similar keys I dipped the ends of them in paint to help identify them.

You only need one tin if you think about it. You have 4 keys, two of which still have the rubber caps. Dip a third key in paint which you can probably get for free if your store has a colour mixing service and leave the fourth with no rubber cap or paint. Job sorted.

Re: keyring things
And while we're at it, what makes cobblers so good at cutting keys?
And would it confuse them if you took in a pair of shoes shaped like keys??
As soon as Harry Hill comes out with further jokes on the subject, I'll be back to pillage them some more

Re: keyring things
I tried all the shops I use - all manner of key related tags and cords, but no key cover (condoms?). Thinking about the types of people who would have lots of keys and therefore need such identifiers, have you tried building supply places and DIY stores?
[edit] Hobby stores will supply small (about an inch high) tins of enamel paint - they're for the sad people who spend their lives painting models of things in the real world.

I spent many happy hours painting small models of planes, tanks and boats - and only had to stop once I ran out of room - it was either that or get rid of some of my spiral bound notebooks with all my train numbers in it, or get rid of my stamp collection....

Aren't you still a bit young to have so many keys that you feel the need to find some method of identifying them?
When I was 20, I had the key to the front door and that was it.
