Re: Just wondering.......
Well,
I have been asked - but i didnt even know what it was so i kinda shyed away - but he could have been having me on - seemed serious about it though.
I was talking about it to them, not realizing that he "might" be one and he asked me if i was interested...
So i dont know if you need to be lucky and find the right person perhaps who knows you - or if he was just pulling my leg - but hey - there you go - bring it up around people you know.
I guess..

Re: Just wondering.......
I was asked a couple of times by one of my old friends at the radio club, he is with the post office, and it's was/is one of those organisations like the cable TV industry where you dont get very far unless your'e on the square.
I was once in a car for a couple of hours with 4 others, 3 of them were masons. All they did was talk about things that we were supposed to know nothing about, when we got out I mentioned it to the other guy and he didn't have a clue what they were on about.
one of them was a Grandmaster, and they were discussing the applicants for the Tylers job.

Re: Just wondering.......
The reason I was asking is because I have been reading a lot of books lately which reference the connection between The Knights Templar and the Mason's. To be honest I have found this rather interesting.

When my dad was in the RUC many years ago he was iniatiated into the Mason's. Unfortunately he still wont talk about his time as a Mason.

On the floor of the Masonic lodge they have a chequerboard square with a piece of rough stone on one side and a polished piece on the other, supposedly representing man's travel through life.
It's a (not very secret) question that's used by one Mason to another, ie "is he on the square?" means is that person a Mason?
