i read this earlier on, its a good idea if it really does stop 'spiking' of drinks.

It wont stop the spiking of drinks,

Dispensers of minature tablets like the old sugar alternative thingies can put a mini-tab down a straw. How about a syringe to inject a liquid straight down the straw.

I guess it will provide a measure of security and confidence.

Nothing however will provide security if you take your eyes off the drink though, say to head to the dance floor.
