vodafone numbers

just got my new nokia 6230 on vodafone (yes i am a phone whore, i have 2 contracts going on 2 phones at the same time).

anyway i didn't get much paperwork with the phone telling me what numbers you call to check things etc, eg on my orange phone i call 150 to check my remaining minutes, talk to a monkey etc etc.

can anyone point me in the direction of a similar list for vodafone? google seems to be turning up nothing but links to singlepoint

TIA

Why do you think you are going to be 'talking to a monkey' if you phone Orange or Vodafone customer services?

It seems to be an attitude particularly prevelant among you University types. You seem to think you're somehow superior to anyone who didn't go to University, and most call centre staff didn't, therefore they are 'monkeys'.

Have a bit of respect for other people and their jobs and don't act like an overpriviledged bag of horse ****! Especially since those same 'monkeys' are paying a lot of money towards your subsidised education and generally ****-easy life!

i've worked in a call centre ACTUALLY, and i've dealt with orange customer services on more than several occasions. shabby treatment is not the word. and it's not an easy life going to uni, maybe you should try it? having to work 30 hours a week+ on top of doing 20 hours+ at uni is not my idea of ****-easy....

anyway that's all

Please don't generalise about students (or in my case, ex-students). Some students have an easy life, but a lot don't. Also, not everyone who is a "University type" as you put it is disrespectful of other people.

Dave: I think there is a list of vodafone nos on their website, but I am unable to check at the moment as it doesn't seem to be responding.

Edit: The site loads very slowly on Firefox. Found it on IE. Go to http://www.vodafone.co.uk/cgi-bin/CO...cegjdgnfdffn.0 or if that doesn't work, go to http://www.vodafone.co.uk and click "contact us"

I'm sorry, this is too, but I nearly choked on my lunch...

Calm down..

I've been to Uni, and it is not easy for everyone. I personally was doing 30 hours + a week studying, didn't do much socialising (didn't get time), and I was working 25-30 hours a week AS WELL. I'll admit, I did get a bit of a rest during the holidays, but not an awful lot as I tended to work all the hours I could to save money.

Some people do have support from their parents, and don't have to work. A lot have little or no support from their parents, so have to work through Uni..

IIRC, Dave is doing an engineering degree, which is actually one of the harder degrees you can do. I personally did Computing Science.

BTW, I finished my degree 8 years ago and have been working ever since, so have a fair idea of what the real world is like..

But, as you say, this is all

Re: vodafone numbers

Unbelieveable. Let's not argue and bicker about whether students have a hard lot. MANY students live the life of Riley. SOME work all hours to afford to send themselves to Uni. These ones perhaps value the time more, but most all students enjoy themselves immensely.

The 'real work' IS much harder. Full-time, paying off student loans and a mortgage is certainly the real world. Uni is the good stuff before the real world kicks in.

Either way, some call centre staff are students, working to pay their way, some are there for the duration and some are passing through. All deserve respect, the majority are doing their best. Lets leave off the "monkey" labels, they do not do anyone credit.

Make love and be merry, for tomorrow you may catch a disgusting skin disease.

Re: vodafone numbers

191 takes an age to get through to find out your remaining minutes, sign up for online billing and get the usage in current billing period data.

Sure it does , all you do is call 191 then option 2 and then option 1 and wait for the text (usually instant).
Of course if you insist on speaking to a "monkey" like myself you'll have to wait while we go through your call logs and work out on a calculator how many minutes you have left...

Re: vodafone numbers

Actually, the couple of times I have spoken to Vodafone on 191, they have been good. Certainly not monkeys..

Of course, being a pay monthly customer, I don't need to worry how many minutes I have left..

Re: vodafone numbers

well it is a pay monthly phone. i'm still worried about how many minutes i have left though dont want to go over and spend a fortune

i have orange C500 on your plan 3000 texts for £20 a month, and nokia 6230 on vodafone anytime/anyone 250 mins and 50 texts, and unlimited calls to vodafone and landlines at weekend, for £29 a month

still works out cheaper than what i was paying before
