Psychometric test
I have an interview tomorrow which includes a psychometric test. Something called a 'Thomas profile', anyone heard of it? I've typed it into google but returns nothing
Does anyone have any advice or examples of psychometric tests, especially a Thomas profile test?

Re: Psychometric test
This is what I found...
DISC/Thomas Profile Analysis - looks at four characteristics: Dominance,
Influence, Steadiness and Compliance (DISC). Candidates are asked to
respond to a questionnaire which lists 24 adjectives - such as gentle,
persuasive, humble or original.
I got it from this site - it also lists the other types
There's this too

Re: Psychometric test
We use Thomas software here... it's just a profile builder.. seems fairly random to me. (carp bit of software too)
I wouldn't worry about it to be honest, it's more useless data for HR to busy themselves with, not really a concern for joe average.

Don't worry about it, it's just a faddy way for the company's HR department to justify its budget Just answer the questions honestly, the test won't disqualify you for the job unless it shows you to be a dangerous sociopath.

If I had a tenner for the number of times that i'd lost a job because of that.....
Actually the company where i work now has a woman who does these tests on new employees, and generally assess the people... well apart from the techies, they never test us... I wonder why

Re: Psychometric test
Psycho tests usally translate to basic number and verbal reasoning tests. Normally you'll get a number pattern test 2,4,6,8,x what is x etc. (although normally a little harder!) and a english type test in that you are giving a paragraph of text for each question which you read, you are then given a statement and you tick to the statement does, does not mean the same, you need more information etc.
Basically testing if you have basic maths/english skills and can operate under pressure - normally you have too many questions for the time limit (where I work we reduced the test down from 30 minutes (still impossible) to 15minutes - you should see people panic!)
Good luck with the Interview anyway!
