Yes, but what sort of pies; there's dozens of kinds? Personally, I don't mind the occasional Scotch pie, and I suppose a bog standard Melton Mowbray from time to time is quite acceptable. Cornish pasties? Well, are the pies labelled as Cornish pasties in most shops really Cornish pasties? Many years ago, M&S use to do a rather nice pie called a Swiss pie; it had a layer of paté on top of the meat.
