Ornothology question !!
Any ornothologists out there?
My son has been given a fun quiz (no prize money!) which has the following question -
Which common garden bird sheds half its mass every day in droppings?
We think we know the answer but can't find any references to confirm.
Thoughts on a post(card), please!

Not so sure a pigeon is a common garden bird though - maybe in or near cities. It's got to be either a sparrow or a blackbird - I'd go with the latter.
