Question How far do you commute to work?

Just applied for a job in Sheffield, about 50 motorway miles distance, to be told by the agency that this is too far for a daily commute!!!

What do they know? I have just done 3 months commuting to York, similar distance & not such good roads. Previously I had to commute to Chesterfield, even further, and then visit sites as far apart as York, Bradford, Hull, Derby and Boston.

Straw poll, how far do you travel (distance/time)?

Got that off my chest!! Agencies!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit: that's 50 miles each way

Re: How far do you commute to work?

About 2 metres, from my bed to my office

I work from home 4 days a week (sometimes 5) when I have to go into the office it takes me about an hour and twenty minutes door to door - via train, tube, and walking

Not sure what the distance is, it's outside London (Waddon) to Chancery Lane way

Is that 50 miles total or one way?

I currently commute 40 miles total.

About a year ago I was living at home while waiting to complete on my new house so for about 3 months i commuted 100 miles a day.

Re: How far do you commute to work?

Roughly 35 miles each way, from Grimsby to Scunthorpe - it takes from 30 minutes to about 45, depending on the traffic. If I had to, I wouldn't mind driving to Sheffield or maybe Leeds (65 to 80 miles), but no more than that 'cos it's just too long and boring!

Re: How far do you commute to work?

My journey is about 30 miles round trip, if I have a 8am start then I have to leave before 7am and enjoy all the fun of the M60 otherwise it's about 15-20 minutes.

teeky, next to the quote button on the bottom right of your post is an edit button. Press that and you can get your leeds untangled.

Press it on your second post and you can delete it. You can change history for at least 30 minuties, I think it is 90 minutes now.
