Bad Thunder Storms

We are having a realy bad thunder storm here in Luton. The thunder is so loud it is shaking the house. The rain is so heavy that we have totaly lost the sky signal....

And becouse it was so hot last night I left the skylight window in our bedroom open and now the bed is totaly soaked

I have never seen a storm like this !!!!

The rain is now so heavy that you can hardly see through it !!!

Re: Bad Thunder Storms

We had one like this about 10 days ago, so I'm hoping we don't get another one because:

1. While looking out of the front window, I noticed that the water level appeared to be creeping higher and higher (our front yard didn’t appear to be draining)

2. When the water level reached the bottom of my car door , I thought I’d better move the car into the middle of the road (BIG camber in our street), bearing in mind I now have to drive to Scunthorpe every day, and I didn’t want the car to float away!

3. Came back in to be told by my girlfriend that the drain in the garden was blocked , so thought I’d better take my pointy stick to un-block it.

4. Opened the back door to be met by approx 6 inches of water that was just under the level of my door , so quickly proceeded to drain.

5. Found out that the drain wasn’t blocked, but that the entire system had backed up – yep, I was wading through drain water .

6. Went back into kitchen to find that drain water had seeped through the kitchen wall and knackered the carpet – bugger !

7. We now have 2 industrial fans trying to dry the concrete which is just too loud, but at least the insurance is paying for all of it!

Pictures Stu turning the shed into an Ark, just in case. This quickly turned into picture of Stu laid on the soaking bed with two voluptuous women massaging shower gel onto him just like the advert. Quick Stu, the wife's coming.
