What now for Mike Tyson?
Quote:
The end came with the shocking suddenness of many Mike Tyson fights. First, the flurry of devastating punches, then a fighter falling bleeding to the canvas.
Even more shocking this time was that fighter was Tyson himself.

$38,000,000 (yes $38 million dollars!) in debt....
I still think it's sad that one of the greatest heavyweight fighters ever ends up like this, but I guess it's the same old story really.....

Re: What now for Mike Tyson?
I personally wouldn't say Tyson was ever a good boxer, scrapper yes, boxer no.
It's a shame though that he thinks he has to fight just to stave of his current indebtedness, with the amount of money he has earned over the years he could have retired years ago.
He has probably fallen foul to a few spongers also, plus combined with his own alledged antics, I can't help but think he only has himself to blame.

It is a shame, but then again IIRG he ******ed away huge chunks of cash on flash cars, huge mansions etc. Lets face it, if you where his accountant or PA would you tell his to wind his neck cause he's blowing all his cash on cr@p.
Ah well, just another example of poor boy makes it big, and then blows it all away on useless guff.

Well I guess he could take a leaf out of Brunos book and wait a bit as Pantomime Season is soon to start.

Throughout history the heavyweight champion has always acquired lots of "friends" these so called friends always dissapear once the money has run out.
There are very few ex-Heavyweight champions who have retired at the right time with a good amount of cash in the bank or have made good investments. The one who springs to mind is Rocky Marciano, he allegedly had a lot of investments in different names and it was all lost when he died in an accident. he was apparently so worried about people sponging off him that he was quite mean, I think he accepted a flight in a light aircraft to save paying and it went down in bad weather costing him his life.
Larry Holmes is another who made good investments, he made his comeback against Tyson allegedly because all his cash was tied up. He is apparently a very succesfull businessman. George Foreman is another who has been very shrewd with his money.
The list of world class heavyweight fighters on the breadline probably include Tyson, Tyrell Biggs, Leon Spinks, Tim Witherspoon, Tony Tubbs, Carl Williams, Jose Ribalta, James Tillis, James Bonecrusher Smith, Greg Page, Tony Tucker, Trevor Berbick, Pinklon Thomas and james Buster Douglas.
The list goes on but with many there are two things in common..... Drugs and Don King!

Has anyone seen the boxing video online? I'd love to watch Danny Williams beat the crap out of Tyson
