Selling a bike & Buying a car

As some of you may recall I am learning to drive, my test will be in the midle of august and I plan to buy a car mid september (Just after my 21st birthday).
I made a thread a month or so ago to discuss what type of car to buy now I would like to discuss the best places to buy from?
The money to buy my car will be coming from the sale of my bike, I payed just shy of £2,000 for the bike about a year and a half ago and I would like to make at least half of this back, where do you think I would be best selling this?
The bike will also be due to have its tires & brake pads replaced aswel as the ignition barrel adjusting around the time of sale, would I be better having this done before the sale or reducing the sale price and explaining to the buyer what will need doing?
