Working late?
Just wondered who else is languishing in work later than they would have hoped.
Our exchange (email) server hit it's 16gig storage limit about an hour before clocking off time.. and the recovery process is tedious to say the least... 7 or 8 before I get out of here at least

You're not actully hitting the limit if you get an email...
If you do hit it, exchange stops the information store and internet mail services automatically making it impossible to get into the management console.
The only way to recover space is to run "eseutil" which defragments the database (we had recently purged a few mailboxes, so it was a worthwhile exercise). The process of copying the database and defragging took over 5 hours in the end.. I left work at 9

Re: Working late?
i noticed i was getting near to the limit and grabbed an event time sink thingie from a newsgroup post to tell me about the limit - it sends me nice mail and then stops the connectors (smtp/pop3) so no more mail. then i just ran the mailbox manager that generates a report and then i run it again this time with actions specified eg delete
well it worked for me ..but was a long time ago ive yet to do it in 2003
