Re: The definitive ringtone
Good Vibrations maybe? Or I Just Called (to say I love you)? Or Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft?

Re: The definitive ringtone
If you use it for work then a traditional 'ring ring' tone is the ONLY one to have.
People seem to have no idea how ridiculous supposed 'professionals' look when their mobile goes off with some stupid tune.
If you want to be taken seriously in a work environment...you need a standard ring or beep, not a tune.

Re: The definitive ringtone
I personally prefer the CanCan,the most subversive of tunes. It's very annoying and EVERYONE will end up humming it all day.

Monster In Black Tights - sort of catchy and it's highly unlikely anyone else will have it.

If plays mp3's can it play wav's ??? ( if not convert them to mp3 ) but my point is you could have different ( talking tones ) ie " work is calling would you like to answer " or something along those lines, was thinking of doing it on my phone with just a computer voice calling out " callers name is on the line " over and over ( just my warped sense of playing around ), it could sound allright in theory

In fact, make that in all situations.
I find nothing more annoying than having somebody's phone go off with some annoying ringtone.

Re: The definitive ringtone
There was a bloke on the bus into Leeds a few days ago - had the Toreador song. His phone kept going off and he was the "noisy conversation" sort - arguing with the missus. The bus quickly developed a tense atmosphere and I feel certain he'd have been out the emergency door had he not got off the bus in Leeds
Mine just vibrates - I never have the ringer on and don't actually like people ringing me. Much prefer text.

Mine plays Babylon 5 for ringing and Star Trek Voyager for a text message.

No sorry, everyone's allowed a bit of fun. Agreed, some ring tones, are just out and out annoying and inappropriate. A carefully selected ring tone does show personality and indeed that may well show your clients your not such an inflexible boring old codger. That might create a better impression on your client / colleagues, than picking a staid boring default.
What I find more annoying than the ring tone, is the inability to switch the phone off when your discussing things with others, having meetings, whatever. The "I must answer my phone, in preference to dealing with the perosn you are speaking to face to face" mentality is the rudest thing of all, and in my view totally unprofessional.
