Has anyone ever been to South Korea? I haven't. I'm sure most of you know I'm looking for a full time job for my next semester, and I just finished a very good telephone interview with Samsung in Seoul, South Korea. I don't know if I'll get it the job, but if I get offered, I will take it. I'm extremely anxious.
Basically, this visa thing is called a Working Holiday permit. For one year, you can live in South Korea and work to help pay for accomodation and living expenses while living in Korea. (for some odd reason this is only open to Canadian, Australian, and New Zealand citizens)

I just read through the website and realized how little I know about South Korea traditions and culture. Never leave chopsticks sticking into your rice, because that is reserved for the dead, for example. Eh.
If I get the job, I'll be working there for eight months (two semesters). I'm pretty sure I'll be visiting China and Japan in that time. The ferry to Japan is about $80 (one way) they say, which isn't bad at all.
Anyone have any experience in South Korea? Now would be a good time to brag about it because this is just a little bit intimidating to me. I'm 21, and have lived away from home, but never for 8 months at a time, and this is in a completely foreign country (not like from Canada to the USA).

I'll be going alone, the only university co-op student, as far as I know, which is even more nerve wrecking. Had I someone to go with me at least we could have explored Korea, Japan, and China together.
/wanders off thinking about opening bank accounts, income tax in Korea and how Canada's Revenue Agency will look on that, drivers' licenses, Korean, finding a place to live, the money it will take.....
