dartford crossing

on friday i was in the massive queue to go down the tunnel at dartford , the chaos this toll causes is ridiculous in my opinion ,and surely just the amount of cars gridlocked for miles on friday waiting to use the crossing paid for it twice over........
it cost me £1 to cross but about £2 in petrol moving through about 3 miles of jam at 2mph on the hottest day of the year so far.......
what justification does the ministry of transport or whoever have in still charging for this highway robbery?
the bridge has been coining it in for 10 years i guess and the tunnels for many more.......

Re: dartford crossing

They have paid for the construction. afaik... They said they would stop the toll once that had happened.
The last I heard was that they were going to continue charging because of the enormous amount of money it brings in.

Re: dartford crossing

I used to live in kent and work in essex... cost me £2 per day, and lost of time working.

If you have a darttag, then you get a massive discount of 7p per journey! how generous of them!
