Orthopaedic chairs
I suffer with recurring lower back trouble, "mechanical back" or something according to the doctor and really painful knee joints, normally after extended periods of sitting working, despite taking breaks and wandering about every couple of hours. Anyone know where I can get hold of a decent chair (i.e. not like the crap PC world sell) that might cause a little less discomfort?

Re: Orthopaedic chairs
I got my last chair from Viking Direct, who are reasonably local to me - I don't know, offhand, if they would do anything suitable for you, but maybe worth a look.

Viking deliver anywhere for free next day if the value of the order is over £30 (they're where I get all my packaging and envelopes from), however they're not always best priced, especially for furniture etc.
Also the two swivel chairs I've got (one for the workroom and one which I'm using right now) have the habit of giving me little static electric shocks!!

I was eyeing that one up, gave in and bought it along with an antistatic footmat and a footrest. Never EVER buy a "leather faced" chair from PC World.

Doing 12hr shifts sat down, our company bought some £800 chairs
They're bloody uncomfortable and give us terrible wind!

Exactly, you need something comfortable for you, my £20 directors chair has been great for the last 8 years....
You needn't spend a furtune, you just need a chair that is very adjustable (tilt/height/lumbar support/backrest height/armrest height etc, so that you can get it 'just right' for your body.
The most important thing is how you sit in the chair, you mustn't slouch. Park your backside and low back hard up against the backrest like in the piccy....
