need some advice on travel

i might be going to derry, londonderry so i was thinking, what the best route would be to get there from leeds, im guessing an airflight would be a good route with the low cost airlines, but im not too keen on flying.......

so anyone got any pointers ?

ill be doing some of my own research later, but im not really a traveller so any suggestions would be appreciated

Re: need some advice on travel

Cant really help as I've never been to Leeds but if you are travelling down, I normally take the M1 motorway then the M25.

www.multimap.com will probably help you out more for finding shortest routes, etc.

Good luck.

Re: need some advice on travel

It's a long way by car or ferry - Flights are you're best option:
ryanair usually have some good deals (although you may need to fly into dublin or something to get a really good deal - just hire a car when there - although only being 18 might be a hassle for some companies!)

Re: need some advice on travel

trek over to manchester or liverpool might be a viable option too... its only 40/60 minutes on the M62 if you are lucky and dont get caught up in an accident at saddleworth....:pp

Its a very safe form of transport. You're more likely to die in an accident on the motorway to the airport than on the plane. Or the motorway to Liverpool or wherever you catch the boat.

More die on the roads each year than in the air, just an air crash has 100+bodies at once, not 50 incidents where 2 people died.

hmm.......ireland is not listed

although ryanair does flights, but to dublin, finding a inexpensive flight to derry is like looking for a needle in a haystack

looks like ill have to give up again, or fly for £200+
