IMO the british are getting too lazy & as said will not do certain jobs, the younger generations these days just wants to use a computer etc, not dig about in the muck etc.

Hmmmm...Maybe you've hit on an idea to keep track of where illegal immigrants are, provide hard labour for convicts and get another channel tunnel for free. Get the conviccts to start digging the tunnel from England and on the French side put a big pile of shovels next to a sign saying "dig here for quick way to English Benefits Office". The convicts might get half way to the English coast before they meet the illegals coming the other way.
