Yep and most of them work for themselves. Hence no company will invest in training because the apprentice leaves directly the training is finished to earn £ÃÆ ’‚£Ãà¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£Ãƒââ‚ ¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£Ãƒâ€š £ÂÃâ €šÃ‚£Ãƒâ€šÃ‚à ƒâ€šÃ‚£ÃƒÆ’‚ £ÃƒÆ’‚£Ã ƒâ€šÃ‚£Ãà ƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£'s self employed.
Add to that the very low rates paid to the trainees and there's ya problem.

He should keep looking for an opening. I've had two patients who were in their 30's and doing plumbing apprenticeships.

Depends on the role etc, a guy where I work who has been in the forces, then a reservist is going back into logistics as he has skills they need, probably late 40s.

Re: benefit tourists
the armed forces are a wealth of talent, its prob the best way to do most things these days you get paid for being there and you get a free education, just never thought of it in an appretiship type of way. n thats pretty good that you can go into them up until ur 30s/40s.

'Course if I was a pessimist I would say that it just means that illegal immigration is up by 41%

Re: benefit tourists
I'd just say that they have massaged thre figures into someting else.
IMO the british are getting too lazy & as said will not do certain jobs, the younger generations these days just wants to use a computer etc, not dig about in the muck etc.
Perhaps our legal system should force some into hard work, bring back the labour camps for the lazy sods.
