Maxine Carr vs Kamel Kadri

This is sick ...

Hit and Run Immigrant's Sentence Reduced

compare that to this ...

ah damn, there's no link for it yet, but maxine carr's early release has been denied, basically because of public feelings.

so let me get this straight...

one person kills a child doing something illegal and gets a 6 month sentence, whilst someone else who hasn't hurt anyone but has association with someone who has, stays in prison because of 'public outrage'

this country is going down the pan. the establishement is pandering to the low brow slumites and standards are being flushed away. this is just further confirmation to me that 80% of britons are just total imbeciles

now then before any of you think that i'm saying that maxine carr is innocent, let me say that she deserved to go to jail for lying to the police, as anyone does. but she doesn't deserve to stay in jail longer than someone who actually killed a child ... or does that sound unfair ?

Re: Maxine Carr vs Kamel Kadri

Since when has the government ever taken public feelings into account

Re: Maxine Carr vs Kamel Kadri

Whilst I think that Maxine Carr should serve her sentence, I am extremely concerned that the law was changed just to block her attempt to gain release under the tagging scheme.

This sets a dangerous precedent, although with this government why should I be surprised.

Re: Maxine Carr vs Kamel Kadri

usually through parliament ...

i think i went off half cocked on my previous post in this thread, apparently it's not her sentence thats been extended, just the way in which it will be served has been decided on.

maxine carr is no danger to anyone and i think she should be tagged. it's worrying that her safety is at risk from slumites who think they can 'dispense justice' on someone who hasn't hurt anyone, when some guy that killed a child in a RTA gets out in 6 months and the same type of people seem to shrug that off. it's the inconsistency that bothers me.
