2 Girls Missing
2 girls are missing after apparently arranging to meet boys they had been chatting to on the net.
Story Here
Let us hope they are found safe and well.

Re: 2 Girls Missing
Why is it the 'net is always made out as the villan in these situations? Ok, so they had PCs... most people do, and the used email/messengers.... most people do. It sounds like it was them who tried to arrange a meeting aswell.
Still, hope they are ok. If they are anything like me, then they'll be home soon to check their mail ;-)

Re: 2 Girls Missing
The net is blamed because it can still be a place where people can remain anonymous and pretend to act like they are older/younger/different sex.
I hope these girls are found safe and sound soon.

thats why you should not really meet anyone from the net, unless you can really be sure that the person typing to you is really who it is, although there are ways of dealing with meeting people on the net, taking various precautions such as, meeting in public places ensuring you remain in well lit areas, and various other precautions you can take it still does not mean you will be safe.

That's an easy thing to say when you are slightly more mature and have a some what more realistic view of the world.
Sadly - with a lot of girls at the age of 12 or so, they have a very romantic view of the world, and still imagine that there will be a prince to sweep them off their feet?
They (like more really young people) don't realise that the world isn't like that at all.
Let's hope they're found, safe and well, soon

although i hate the idea of parents watching over there kids, i think this type of monitering is warrented in some cases.

yes unfortunately you are correct, its not just girls really, its mainly young people who get in to the habit of chatting to someone and decide to meet them, while many older people do the same for youngsters this is unsafe.
